The high-impact resistance makes it a favorite for engineers and architects to work on. They are very flexible and in turn, they have very high impact resistance which makes them ideal to work with.
The PC hollow sheet are fire-resistant and flame retardant also. They can only catch fire at a temperature above six 630 degree which makes them a very good quality of polycarbonate sheets. They are also firing retardants which means they can self-extinguish the fire. It concludes that even if the temperature is 630 degree or more the fire will not spread.
The hollow polycarbonate panels are very light weighted. They are eight times lighter than the normal glass but have the same width as it. They do not require heavy external structures to support them, they support themselves. That is why they are cost-effective and do not need heavy machinery and labor.
Agricultural greenhouses are said to be one of the first use of hollow polycarbonate sheets. The hollow polycarbonate sheets are now available in many varieties, twin walls, three walls, four walls, multi-wall and even honeycomb structures. Rectangular hollow polycarbonate sheet is the most commonly used shape of the solar panel. It got its name because its internal structure is rectangular. Rectangular solar panels, is generally 4-12mm thick, generally used in some temporary solar rooms, rain-proof eaves and other places where the requirements for the strength of the panel is not very high;Panel of medium thickness is a three-layer rectangular solar panel with a general thickness of 6-25mm. It is usually used in greenhouses in the central area where the environment is not very harsh. The internal structure is like honeycomb shape, so it is called honeycomb solar panel. Compared with the rectangular solar panels, the strength of this kind of solar panels is higher. The thickness is generally 4-35mm. In the solar panels, it is a mid-range panel and is generally used for the roofs of commercial squares and industrial parks. The aesthetic effect of this kind of board is better than that of rectangular sunshine board.
The internal structure is like a rhombus. The strength of honeycomb panel is similar to honeycomb solar panel, and the thickness is generally 4-35mm. It is a mid-range solar panel used for ceilings such as commercial squares, factories, stadiums.
U-shaped lock hollow polycarbonate sheet
Referred to as the lock plate, the internal structure is also rectangular. The two sun panels are linked by a stainless steel card slot and a PC material U-shaped card strip like a lock, so it is called U-shaped locking sun panels. This kind of sun panels are generally used in government projects and high-end buildings. There are currently several thicknesses choices on the market( 8 mm, 10 mm, 18 mm and 20 mm).
As the name suggests, the characteristic of this kind of sunshine board is wavy shape. It is divided into 40 type, 44 type, 80 type, 86 type according to the impassable wave height. It is widely used in factory buildings and with light weight, it reduces the load of the building.
PC hollow sheets are available in various thicknesses, typically ranging from 4mm to 20mm. The thickness you choose depends on your specific application and requirements.
The width of PC hollow sheets can vary, but common widths include 1220mm (4 feet) and 2100mm (7 feet). Wider sheets are also available for specific applications.
PC hollow sheets are often sold in standard lengths such as 2440mm (8 feet) and 3050mm (10 feet). However, they can be cut to custom lengths based on your project needs.

The light transmittance of PC hollow sheet can reach up to 89%, different colors and different transmittance.which is as beautiful as glass. UV-coated panels will not produce yellowing, atomization, and poor light transmission under sunlight. Anti-uv
The PC sheet has an anti-ultraviolet (UV) coating on one side, and an anti-condensation treatment on the other side, which integrates anti-uv, heat insulation and anti-drip functions. It can block ultraviolet rays from passing through, and is suitable for protecting valuable artworks and exhibits from damage by ultraviolet rays.

Flame-retardant
The national standard GB50222-95 confirms that the PC sheet is flame-retardant grade one, that is, grade B1. The ignition point of the PC sheet is 580 degrees Celsius, and it will self-extinguish after leaving the fire. It will not produce toxic gas during combustion and will not promote the spread of the fire.

Cold bending can be used on the construction site according to the design drawing, and it can be installed into an arch, semi-circular roof and window. The minimum bending radius is 175 times the thickness of the adopted sheet, and hot bending is also possible.

UV radiation can degrade polycarbonate sheets over time, leading to yellowing and reduced impact resistance:UV-Protective Coating: Consider using polycarbonate sheets with built-in UV protection or apply a UV-resistant coating to prevent degradation.Regular Inspection: Periodically inspect the sheets for signs of UV damage, such as discoloration or brittleness.
● Tear off the protective film and observe sheet bubble situation. Good quality pc hollow sheet made of 100% virgin material will be with less bubbles. There will be more bubbles for pc hollow sheet made of recycled raw material.
● Look at the pc hollow sheet lower wall thickness. Good quality sheet is with higher thickness and more raw material usage. For large-scale projects, we can choose one sheet and measure its weight to identy the purity of the material.

A: Apply Aluminium Tape to the top exposed ends of the sheets. Apply Anti-Dust Tape to the bottom exposed ends of the sheets. Measure the width of your polycarbonate sheet. Where required, cut the sheet closure to match the size using a Hack Saw or Chop Saw.For polycarbonates, a circular saw can satisfactorily cut through any thickness above 0.125 inches but below 0.5 inches. So if you want to cut a thin 0.0625 inches- 0.0937 inches polycarbonate using a circular saw, it is advisable that you use a hollow ground panel blade with at least 10 teeth per inch.

Unlike most thermoplastics, polycarbonate can undergo large plastic deformations without breaking or shattering. Because of this characteristic, it can be processed and molded at room temperature using sheet metal processes, such as bending on a brake.
A: Top Tip: if you are starting with a wall bar make sure there is an approx. 9mm gap between the base bar and wall to allow for the top clip. 7. Allowing for an expansion gap of approximately 2mm between the polycarbonate sheets and Snap down glazing bars line the base bars up.Polycarbonate sheets expand in hot weather and. contract in cold. It's important to pre-drill fixing holes to. allow for this thermal movement.

To be precise, you should use wheel buffing.Compared to polycarbonate, acrylic has a higher tensile strength and UV resistance. Acrylic is less expensive than polycarbonate and is commonly used as a suitable alternative when impact resistance is not a key factor.
Plastic and Polycarbonate Silicone is a transparent, quick-setting caulk that provides a watertight seal and permanent flexibility. With its 100% silicone formula, this caulk offers outstanding adhesion and is ideal for use on Lexan sheets and with most plastic materials.
A: Yes, however, you are best to pre-drill pilot holes in polycarbonate sheets are they expand and contract with temperate changes. If you screw straight through without pre-drilling it allows no scope for expansion and the sheets may end up warping and flexing.
A: Start with grit 200, followed by 400 and 800. Sand lightly and be careful not to apply too much pressure. Finally, use waterproof sandpaper, grit 2000 or 2500. Then start to machine polish.Cut polycarbonate with a variety of common hand-held and table-mounted sawing equipment. Fine tooth hollow ground blades and triple chip carbide blades are the best choices for producing a good quality finish. For thin gauge sheet 1/16" -3/32" thick, use hollow ground panel blades with 10-12 teeth per inch.
A: There are two methods of bonding pieces of polycarbonate effectively, one being the use of an epoxide glue (Epoxy), which is relatively straightforward and not at all dissimilar to glueing any other two materials together; and the other being fusing the two together.Supported sloped stacking is recommended, but sheets may be stacked up to 3' high on a flat, even, supported surface.
A: Start with the lower sheets first, keeping the openings where the sheets overlap away from prevailing wind. Allow an overhang of 50mm into the gutter. Overlaps will differ between profiles, corrugated sheets have an overlap of 1 1/2 corrugations and greca profile has just one overlap.
A: Cut aluminum profiles to length, allowing for overhangs of up to 100mm at each end. An overhang of minimum 50mm over the end-purlin into the gutter is recommended. Cut panels to length, 20mm shorter then aluminum profiles for expansion allowance.
A: Does Polycarbonate Roofing sheet tape always need to be installed? No! Installing Filter Tape/ Breather Tape/Anti Dust Tape is completely optional. Many installers prefer not to use the Polycarbonate Sheet Tape nowadays as by correctly sealing your Endstop Bar you should be able to get the perfect seal required.Maybe you've experienced the kind of damage that hail can do when it strikes a roof. But polycarbonate, which has 30 times the strength of acrylic and 250 times as much impact resistance as glass, is perfect for outdoor structures.
